Survey Nation took a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge on August 8, 2008, opening day of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. We caught up with several "Free Tibet" organizations as they marched across the historic landmark sending a direct message to the Chinese government that human rights violations, the suppression of a free press, and the repressive treatment of Tibet must stop now.
Building off past Survey Nation episodes dealing with Tibet and the Olympics, we took your comments and presented them to the participants in this event. In this episode we asked our interviewees a question asked by many Chinese nationalists: Is America in the position to criticize China? A fair question, certainly.
We're always happy to take your questions to the streets provided they're relevant and constructive. So please comment, ask questions and start discussions. You just might see your question on the next episode of Survey Nation.
We understand that these issues are highly emotional and potentially divisive, but we encourage you to view each episode in the spirit of worldwide harmony, openness, and diversity that is at the heart of Olympic ideals.
