Survey Nation returns to the UC Berkeley Campus to check-in with the on-going struggle to save the Oak Grove. As the two-year anniversary of the tree-sit approaches the pressure to bring about a resolution can be is felt by both the tree-sitters and the University.
In speaking with Berkeley residents, both community interest in the effort to save the Oak Grave appears to be waning, but the sitters show no sign of giving in. On the day we visited the Grove, the University had ordered the trees to be trimmed and some "debris" removed from the branches. This led to a face-off between the two parties that lasted several hours.
We had the opportunity to interview the now infamous "Dumpster Muffin" who has descended from the trees and now plays a central role in the ground support effort. We also spoke with several UC students to get their take on the situation.

Great coverage, great topic, and I hope the tree sitters hang in and don't give up! Remember Ghandi, and other non violent protesters- they would be most impressed with this effort of commitment to this cause. Thank goodness there are people with such strong convictions and beliefs as these are the people who are the consciousness of our society!
