Learn to Make Great Online Video
with a VidSF Internship

As an intern for VidSF, you’ll actually get out and produce videos. You’re not relegated to the lame tasks that you’ll find at other internships. (We know, we’ve been stuck doing them before too.) Jump down to the application to apply now, or read a bit more…

Here’s what we offer

  • Field, studio and post–production positions — You’ll work with us to define your career goals and we’ll help craft an internship that fits those goals.
  • Equipment — Bring your own or use ours. Field production and post–production equipment is available for use on VidSF projects.
  • Exposure — Get your work seen! VidSF has partnership arrangements with numerous local sites. Some of our most popular videos are seen by tens of thousands of viewers across local San Francisco websites and our YouTube partnership featured in the NYTimes. (Yes, we’re famous.)
  • VIP Access — As an intern for VidSF, you will gain access to the hottest events in San Francisco. 21+ is required for some events, but there’s plenty of PG–rated stuff too for all you young ones.
  • Experience — Build a real reel! Fill your production reel with real footage from projects seen by thousands, instead of projects from class or home.
  • Course Credit — This varies by school and department, but we can help you get credit for your internship with VidSF.

Requirements

  • We ask for a minimum of 10 hours per week during your internship period. We are very flexible and can accommodate most schedules. (That 5–hour Biochem lab isn’t a deal–breaker.)
  • You must be able to meet on–site at least once a week at our SoMa office. Current and past interns mix and match on–site time with off–site time working from home. We’re cool with that.
  • You need not know everything about video production, but you must show basic video production knowledge and an ability to learn. We’ll help you get started, but you’ll have to go from there.

Caveats

  • Please note that this is an unpaid internship. We have worked with interns from all sorts of different schools to earn credit, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Some university programs offer grants, stipends and loan deferments for students pursuing internships, you’ll need to check with your institution on that.
  • We have limited space and resources, so we can’t accept everyone. Please understand that we’ll do our best to accommodate as many interns each semester as we can. Feel free to re–apply next semester if we can’t find a place for you right now.
